How Applaud complies with the General Data Protection Regulation
Applaud is operated by Binary Brains AB, based in Örebro, Sweden. We are committed to GDPR compliance and protecting the personal data of our users and their contacts.
Binary Brains AB acts as data processor on behalf of our customers (data controllers) for data entered into the Applaud platform. For account and billing data, we act as data controller.
We process personal data based on contractual necessity (to provide our services), legitimate interest (to improve and secure the platform), consent (for optional features like analytics), and legal obligation (for accounting and tax requirements).
We offer a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) to all customers. The DPA outlines how we process data on your behalf, our security measures, and your rights as data controller. Contact legal@applaud.live to request a DPA.
All data is processed and stored within the European Union. We do not transfer personal data outside the EU/EEA without appropriate safeguards as required by GDPR.
We use a limited number of sub-processors to provide our services (hosting, email delivery, payment processing). A list of our current sub-processors is available upon request. We notify customers before adding new sub-processors.
We implement technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, including encryption (TLS 1.3 in transit, AES-256 at rest), access controls with role-based permissions, regular security audits and penetration testing, incident response procedures, and employee training on data protection.
We support our customers in fulfilling data subject requests including the right of access, rectification, erasure, data portability, restriction of processing, and the right to object. Customers can manage data subject requests through the platform or by contacting us.
In the event of a personal data breach, we will notify affected customers without undue delay, and no later than 72 hours after becoming aware of the breach, in accordance with GDPR Article 33.
